Aimee Maude Sims, winner of the John Lennon Songwriting Scholarship and Musical Director at The Potter's House Church of the Living God, is working on her first solo album - "From Every Aspect of My Heart."
The album features eclectic, faith-based inspirational music in varying styles from Adult Contemporary to traditional gospel, world music and bluegrass.
Her unique upbringing in the Pentecostal church as the granddaughter of Juilliard-trained Jazz singers and the daughter of a folk music-singer/songwriter have combined to inform this African-American woman's worship of the Living God.
Also featured on the album are her Uncle, Kenwood Dennard, a drum professor at Berklee College of Music, her mother, Dale Sims, The Potter's House Gospel Choir and Myriam Pierre-Louis, her wife, and partner of 15 years.
Aimee Sims is the founder of three-woman acoustic band "Rhythms of Aqua" which consisted of Heide Goertzen on Violin and vocals, Myriam Pierre-Louis on Percussion/Congas and vocals, and Aimee Maude Sims on Lead Vocals, Guitar, Piano, Flute and Tambourine.
