Sunday Communion Song

Share
This song was written a number of years ago simply to have something to share on a communion Sunday that spoke of the importance of the bread and wine. This gift is made available to all, gay straight, young and old. Christ claims all of us as His own as we internalize His most precious gift.

Verse 1:
This is the gift I give you
My only Son, The Wounded One
My gift
This is the meal He brings you
Internalize the sacrifice
My love

There is no greater, no more powerful gift
With this I claim you as My own

Chorus:
Take the bread take the wine
Remember Me and come and dine
The body broken the blood shed
Christ is risen from the dead
Take the bread take the wine
Come and dine

Verse 2
This is the cup of blessing
The mercy flow, the depth
Behold My gift
This is the bread we’re breaking
My Word revealed. Be cleansed be healed
My love

There is no greater, no more powerful gift
With this I claim you as My own

Chorus:
Take the bread, take the wine
Remember Me and come and dine
The Body broken, the blood shed
Christ is risen from the dead
Take the bread
Take the wine
Come and dine
